Join team Federal Way Check the latest career oppportunities http://www.fwps.org/FWPSCareers Comments (-1) Dear Federal Way Public Schools Parents and Community, As we’ve continued to brace the challenges of the pandemic’s effect on this school year, our staff, families and community have risen to the occasion by doing great things for our scholars. Over a year later from when the pandemic began, we are in a new stage with all school staff having the ability to be vaccinated and research that tells us what we can do to prevent the spread of virus transmission and reopen schools safely. We’ve remained vigilant in following the Department of Health and state guidelines requiring masks to be worn at all times, maintaining social distancing, regular hand washing, and requiring daily health screenings. We successfully brought back our preschool through 12th grade students for hybrid/in-person learning for parents who’ve chosen this option. Our staff have done an exceptional job, as well as our parents, in supporting our scholars with the transition back to campus. Our focus is on all of our students’ learning, whether it’s 100% remote or hybrid, that incorporates academics and dedicated social-emotional time to support the whole child. I’m thankful to our scholars who’ve adjusted to new ways of learning, our families for their partnership and patience, and our staff for working and teaching in new ways that we could have never imagined. We’re now simultaneously preparing and planning for meaningful learning opportunities for this summer and robust learning, reconnection, and launch to the 2021-22 school year. I’d like to take a moment to thank our Federal Way community who’ve really stepped up to support in many ways this school year! We’re fortunate that many individuals and organizations have contributed to meals, technology access, and so much more. Another highlight of this year is opening two new elementary schools, and construction is advancing on our other school construction bond projects. We’re also celebrating our Class of 2021 with senior yard signs, school car parades, and an in-person graduation closer to a typical graduation, while following safety and health guidelines. Thank you to our families and community members for trusting us with our commitment to bringing out the best learning experiences for each and every scholar in Federal Way Public Schools.
